Kitna ("the App", "we", "us") is developed by JRD IT Solutions ("the Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Kitna, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Kitna, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information you provide directly:
Information collected automatically:
Kitna does not collect your precise location, contacts list (beyond phone numbers you choose to add manually or via the optional Contacts picker), camera/microphone data, or browsing history.
Kitna is built around shared expense-splitting, so by design, some of your information is visible to other people you interact with in the app:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it with advertisers — Kitna does not display ads.
Kitna is built on Google Firebase, which provides the underlying infrastructure for authentication, data storage, and crash reporting. Your data is stored on Firebase's servers (operated by Google) and is subject to Google's own security practices. We do not manage separate servers of our own.
Relevant Firebase services used: Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Analytics.
All data is transmitted between your device and our servers using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to your Event and Group data is restricted to members you've explicitly added — other Kitna users cannot see your expenses unless you've added them to the relevant Event or Group.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and associated personal data at any time in one of two ways:
Please note: an expense you paid for or were involved in may remain visible to other members of a shared Event for their own records, even after your account is deleted, since that historical expense data belongs to the shared record of that Event, not to any one member alone.
Kitna is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Kitna after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or would like to request data deletion, please contact:
